TV Time shuts down July 15, 2026

TV Time is shutting down. Your watch history doesn't have to die with it.

After July 15, TV Time deletes every episode you logged, every rating, every year of your taste. Export it today and park it here — when our importer opens, it becomes your Taste DNA: what you love, why, and what to watch tonight.

TV Time is shutting down — what happens to your data

TV Time has announced it is shutting down after July 15, 2026. The app leaves the stores, the service goes dark, and all personal account data is permanently deleted — watch history, ratings, and watchlists included.

  • 30,000,000+ accounts
  • a decade of your evenings
  • 15,000,000,000+ episodes logged
  • all deleted after July 15
  • unless you save it now

How to export your TV Time data before the shutdown

Three minutes now saves a decade of watch history. Here is the whole rescue:

  1. Export your data from TV Time

Sign in to TV Time's self-service export and download your ZIP — it's usually ready within minutes. Do it now: after July 15 there is nothing left to export.

  2. Drop the ZIP below

We read it right in your browser and show you what your history holds. Nothing leaves your device until you say so.

  3. We park it. Then we decode it.

Leave your email and your history is safe. The moment our importer opens, we turn it into your Taste DNA and email you the reveal.

Open TV Time's data export — then drop the ZIP on this page (requires JavaScript), or create your TasteRay account and we'll guide you through the import when it opens.

From watch history to Taste DNA

TasteRay doesn't just store what you watched. It learns why — and turns ten years of logs into tonight's answer.

Your hidden patterns

The threads running through everything you finish — including the ones you'd never name yourself.

Honest mirrors

What you think you like vs. what you actually watch to the end.

Non-obvious matches

90%+ matches that aren't the same mainstream picks every app pushes.

Tonight's answer

One pick that fits your mood, your company, your platforms, and the 94 minutes you actually have.

A TV Time alternative that treats you like the customer

TV Time was free. The price was invisible: your attention and your viewing history fed someone else’s analytics business — and when the strategy changed, thirty million people’s watch logs became a line item to delete.

TasteRay is built the other way up. You are the customer, not the inventory — funded by people who pay for the product, never by selling what you watch.

Export anytime

One click and everything you've given us leaves with you. Portability is the deal, not a feature we quietly remove.

No ads, no attention farming

The product is the recommendation, not your screen time.

Your data is not for sale

We don't sell viewing histories to studios, streamers, or anyone else.

Paid means durable

Products funded by their users don't wake up one day and delete them.

TV Time shutdown FAQ

How do I export my watch history from TV Time before it shuts down?

Go to TV Time’s self-service data export, sign in with your TV Time account (use “Forgot password” first if you need to), and request your export. The ZIP is usually ready to download within minutes. Do it before July 15, 2026 — after that, TV Time deletes all account data permanently.

What's inside the TV Time export ZIP?

CSV files with everything you tracked: episodes watched, shows followed, movies, ratings and your watchlist. Exact file names vary by export version (for example tracking-prod-records-v2.csv or seen_episode.csv) — the TasteRay importer is built to read all known variants.

What happens to my ZIP after I upload it here?

It's parked in secure storage, tied only to your email address. When the TasteRay importer opens, we process it into your account and email you. We don't sell it, we don't share it, and if you change your mind, one email to hello@tasteray.com deletes it — no questions asked.

When will my history actually be imported?

The importer is in active development — parking your file now puts you first in line. You don't need to do anything else; we'll email you the moment your Taste DNA is ready.

Is TasteRay free?

TasteRay is free to use today — no credit card required. Advanced taste tools will eventually be part of a paid plan, because we'd rather charge for a product than sell your data. Rescuing and exporting your history will always be free.

Can I get my data out of TasteRay later?

Yes — export everything, anytime, from day one. Your taste history is yours. Portability isn't a growth hack we'll quietly remove; it's the founding deal.

I already imported my list into Trakt or Simkl. Why park it here too?

Keep them — good trackers matter. TasteRay isn’t racing to store the longest list. We turn your history into decisions: what you specifically should watch tonight, predicted from years of your actual taste. Park a copy and see what your data says when something finally reads it.

The deadline doesn't move.

Exporting takes about two minutes. Parking it here takes one more. After July 15, there is nothing left to save.
